The Project
“Þetta reddast” is an ongoing visual world inspired by Icelandic resilience, folklore, absurdity and everyday chaos. The project mixes figurative abstraction, typography, symbols and strange characters into a growing collection of artwork, prints and experiments.
Hidden people, trolls, sea creatures, weather systems and awkward faces appear throughout the work — not as traditional folklore illustrations, but as playful emotional symbols. A way of imagining the invisible forces that somehow carry us through difficult, messy or uncertain moments.
At the center of the project is the Icelandic phrase: Þetta reddast. A phrase often used somewhere between optimism, exhaustion, humor and survival.
The work is intentionally minimal and open-ended. Simple shapes, bold colors and screen-print inspired compositions leave space for interpretation, emotion and imagination.
Some pieces are chaotic. Some are quiet. Some are just weird. But they all belong to the same world. A world where things are rarely perfect, rarely fully under control — but somehow still moving forward.
